CAPE RACHADO
On the hill overlooking the Straits of Melaka near the resort is Cape Rachado, renowned for its Light-House built many years ago. A vantage point, it beckons with scenic coastal views of both sides of the Cape. On a clear day, visitors get to see a faint shape of the island of Sumatera in the distant horizon.
According to local folklore, the legendary Malay warrior of the 15th century, Hang Tuah acquired his strength and knowledge by meditating at Cape Rachado. The legend further claims that his footprint, which was left embedded in a boulder, is visible to this day.
FORT KEMPAS
A historical site about 1 km from Pengkalan Kempas Town, here lies the grave of past leading historical personality, Keramat Ujong Pasir-Ulama Sheikh Ahmad Makhtum. Beside his grave are the famous stone inscriptions or “Batu Bersurat”, which depict his life history and the struggles that he endured in his lifetime.
FORT LUKUT
Steep in history, Fort Lukut was painstakingly built between 1826 and 1827. Located at Lukut Town, about a kilometer from the Seremban-Port Dickson trunk road, Fort Lukut was built to provide a safe haven during the more turbulent times in the state’s history. Formerly a tin mining area, it has a palace site, an old well and an area, which was used as a ground for the practice of Silat - the Malay art of self defence.
