Highlights
- Sungai Lembing
A small historical town located in the highlands, about 50 km from Kuantan. Its museum will tell you the glory days of this rich mining town, from 1906 until its closure in 1986. Sungai Lembing is also known as the ‘El Dorado’ of Malaysia.
- Rainbow Waterfall
A very tall waterfall from a strange limestone rock which lies on a flat jungle. As the name suggests, a beautiful enchanting rainbow formed which can only be seen on a sunny morning. Will you be the first one to find treasures hidden at its feet?
- Gua Charas
A surprising 150 m high limestone rock with huge caves. Be quiet, as the longest cave is the bedroom of a sleeping Buddha, it is 30 m long.
Description
- Day 1
You will meet a P.E.A guide in Kuala Lumpur town center at 08.00 AM in order to reach Sungai Lembing by lunch time. After lunch in a restaurant, we will visit the tin mine museum. Then, we will drive the long off-road trail to reach our camp-site near a beautiful and peaceful river. We shall set-up camp, prepare a campfire, swim or walk around until dinner. We will do a night walk to look out for insects, frogs and other animals which are not too shy to human beings.
- Day 2
After an early breakfast, we will walk to reach the Rainbow Waterfall. We will enjoy the place, before returning to the camp, by walking in the shallow river and watching the beautiful trees remaining of the secondary forest. After lunch, we will have more relaxing activities: fishing, bird watching, swimming or just enjoying being in the wild nature.
- Day 3
After breakfast, on our way back, we will stop by a very surprising place, named Gua Charas. This is a 150 m high limestone rock rising in the middle of a plain, which houses a Buddhist temple and protected by few monks. A 30 feet sleeping Buddha is found in this cave. Really surprising! We will reach KL in the late afternoon.

What You Should Bring
T-shirts, long and short pants, swimsuit and towel and a small rucksack for the treks. You will carry your lunch and drinks supplied by P.E.A; hat, raincoat, hiking shoes, insect repellent, torch light and your personal pharmacy.
