A 2 hrs journey brings you to the home of the legendary "Cowboys of the East", the indigenous Bajaus of Kota Belud. The Bajaus are often called "Sea Gypsies" because they were once fearless sailors. Now, very much settled on the land, the Bajaus are expert horsemen rearing ponies, buffaloes and cattle as well as being rice farmers. At Kota Belud, witness the fascinating and colorful weekly street market or bazaar called "Tamu". Watch people confer and exchange gossip while selling their wares before returning to Kota Kinabalu.
