3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS KINABALU LEISURE

View from the top of Mt. Kinabalu

Day 01 -CITY TOUR : Meet and greet upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu Airport, proceed for city tour. Kota Kinabalu was at one time known as Api-Api(Fire-Fire) because of the pirates troublesome habit of repeatedly putting it to the torch. Known as jesselton until 1963, Kota Kinabalu is the state capital of Sabah and a thriving seaport and is the modern gateway to the rest of Sabah. Kota Kinabalu was razed during World War 2 to prevent the Japanese using it as a base. KK as it is locally known, has since developed into a thriving city. Tour begins with a visit to Signal Hill for an overview of the City and the Marine Park, through Likas residential area to photoshop at the Wisma Tun Mustapha and the Poh Toh Tse Buddhist Temple. Visit the City Mosque and the State Museum (closed on Fridays) and finally the hawker stalls at Tanjung Aru Beach before returning to hotel for check in. Free at leisure & Dinner at Local Seafood Restaurant. Overnight. (D)

Day 02 -FULLDAY KINABALU PARK : After breakfast, meet at hotel lobby before proceeding on leisurely drive to the mountain. Stop by at Nabalu, a small town located near the foot of Mount Kinabalu to do some shopping before continuing with the journey. Upon arrival at Poring Hot Spring, start with a big of jungle trekking up a slope to the Canopy Walk for a better appreciation of the rainforest. Try to catch sight of the small mammals, reptiles and insects during the trek. After finishing the trek, take a dip in the bath tubs filled with running sulfured water rising from the earth’s depth and soak in the self-mixed warm water believed to have therapeutic effect. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. After lunch, make a brief stopover at the Kinabalu Park Headquaters located at 1500m above sea level. Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu and return to hotel. Free at leisure. Overnight. (B/L)

Day 03- MANUKANISLAND Manukan island is one of the 5 islands under Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. Only 20 minutes by boat from the state capital of Kota Kinabalu City, Manukan offers clear waters and beautiful coral reefs. Shaped like a dolphin, the island is 1.5 km long. Blessed with a long stretch of white sandy beach promising hours of sea, sand & fun. This 51 acres boomerang shaped is the second largest of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, Manukan has good stretches of beaches on the southern coastline. The best stretch is on the eastern tip of the island. There is a trail system around the island. Ideal for snorkeling, diving and swimming. The island has very clear waters and is an excellent venue for water-skiing and sea-sports. The beach however is somewhat rocky and swimmers should exercise some caution. There are coral beds on the eastern and the western reefs and multicolored coral fishes abound here. Return to mainland and overland transfer to Kota Kinabalu. (B/L)
