  POINTS TO NOTE
  Visa is an endorsement on a passport to indicate a permisson is granted to enter Malaysia. A visa can be obtained from Malaysian Overseas Missions before arrival. It must be used within it's validity period.
However, for a permission to stay, a pass for an approved period will be stamped in the passport at the point of entry.
Citizens of Israel, Serbia and Montenegro are not allowed to enter Malaysia for any purpose without prior approval from the Malaysian Government.
   
  HOW TO APPLY FOR A VISA
  Application for visas should be made at the nearest Malaysian Missions abroad. In countries where Malaysian Missions have not been established, application should be made to the British High Commission or Embassy.

The applicant should present himself together with the following documents:


(a) Passport or Travel Document
(b) Form IM.47 (3 copies)
(c) Three (3) passport sized photographs
(d) Return or onward - journey traveling ticket
(e) Proof of sufficient funds

   
  VISA REQUIREMENT
  i) Nationals of these countries do not require visa to enter Malaysia for all purpose of visits.

LEICHTENSTEIN, NETHERLANDS, SWITZERLANDS, St.MARINO, SINGAPORE, BRUNEI
All COMMONWEALTH countries except INDIA, PAKISTAN, BANGLADESH, SRI LANKA, NIGERIA

ii) Nationals of this country do not require visa for social visits and study.

United State of American ( USA )

iii) National of these countries do not require visa to enter Malaysia for the purpose of social visits for not more than three (3) months. For other purposes or sosial visits for a duration of stay exceeding three (3) months, visa is required.

ALBANIA, ALGERIA, ARGENTINA, AUSTRIA, BAHRAIN, BELGIUM, BOSNIA HERZ, BRAZIL, CHILE, CROTIA
CUBA, CZECH REP, DENMARK, EGYPT, FINLAND, FRANCE, GERMANY, HUNGARY, ICELAND, ITALY
JAPAN, JORDAN, KIRGYSTAN, KUWAIT, LEBANON, LUXEMBORG, NORWAY, OMAN, PERU, POLAND
QATAR, ROMANIA, SAUDIA ARABIA, SOUTH KOREA, SPAIN, SWEDEN, SLOVAKIA, TUNISIA, TURKEY
TURKESMENISTAN, U.A.E, URUGUAY, YEMEN

iv) Nationals of these countries do not require visa to enter Malaysia for the purpose of social visits for not more than one (1) month. For other purposes or sosial visits for a duration of stay exceeding one (1) month, visa is required.

HONG KONG ( SAR ), MACAU ( SAR ), BRITISH NATIONAL OVERSEAS ( BNO ), NORTH KOREA, VIETNAM
All ASEAN countries except MYANMAR
Others countries that are not listed in any of the other categories

v) Nationals of this country do not require visa to enter Malaysia for the purpose of social visits for not more than fifteen ( 15 ) days. For other purposes or sosial visits for a duration of stay exceeding fifteen ( 15 ) days, visa is required.

IRAN

vi) Nationals of these countries do not require visa to enter Malaysia for the purpose of social visits for not more than fourteen (14) days. For other purposes or sosial visits for a duration of stay exceeding fourteen ( 14 ) days, visa is required.

IRAQ, LIBYA, SYRIA, MACAO ( Travel Permit ), PORTUGAL ( Alien Passport )

vii) Nationals of these countries require visa for any purpose of visit.

BANGLADESH, INDIA, PAKISTAN, SRI LANKA, AFGHANISTAN
TAIWAN, MYAMMAR, NEPAL, BHUTAN, PR CHINA
ANGOLA, BURKINA FASO, BURUNDI, CAMEROON, CENTRAL AFRICAN REP, CONGO REP
CONGO DEMOCRATIC REP, COTE DVOIRE, DJIBOUTI, EQUITERIAL GUINEA, ERITERIA, ETHIOPIA

viii) Nationals of these countries require special approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs to enter Malaysia.

  TYPES OF VISA  
    Three (3) types of visa are issued by the Malaysian Government to foreign national:  
 
   
  • Single Entry Visa

  • Issued to foreign nationals who require a visa to enter Malaysia mainly for a social or business visit. Normally valid for a single entry and for a period of three (3) months from the date of issue.

  • Multiple Entry Visa

  • Issued to foreign nationals who require a visa to enter Malaysia mainly for business or government to government matters. Normally valid for a period within three (3) to twelve (12) months from the date of issue.

  • Transit Visa

  • Issued to foreign nationals who require a visa to enter Malaysia on transit to other countries. Foreign Nationals on transit without leaving the airport precincts and who continue their journey to the next destination with the same flight does not require a transit visa.
