Global Indian Film Awards 2006
 


Kuala Lumpur -- Top Indian film stars; celebrities and corporate leaders will be here in Malaysia for the Global Indian Film Awards 2006 (GIFA) to be held in Kuala Lumpur from Dec 7 - 9, 2006.

Under the patronage of wife of the Deputy Prime Minister, Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor, the three-day GIFA 2006 event will feature a galaxy of Bollywood superstars performing live in Malaysia. The event will be telecast around the world.

On December 7, the world premiere of BR Films and Ravi Chopra's Baabul at TGV cinemas in KLCC will be attended by its leading stars, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee and John Abraham.

A celebrity football match on the second day pits the Bollywood team against Malaysian personalities at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium. Following the game, a bevy of Bollywood stars will take to the catwalk for a fashion show during a charity dinner and auction at the Palace of the Golden Horses.

At the GIFA 2006 night on December 9, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Ameesha Patel will perform. The emcees for this glittering awards show are Arshad Warsi and Amrita Arora.

The broadcast partner, Sony Entertainment Television, will telecast the entire show. The GIFA 2006 auditors are PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and polling for the popular awards are on MovieTalkies.com.

GIFA 2006 showcases Malaysian culture and introduces Kuala Lumpur as a hub for hosting mega entertainment events.
