Themed "The Colours and Flavours of Malaysia," the event will see a spectacular launch on 8 July at Dataran Merdeka, officiated by His Majesty the King of Malaysia, Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin. The evening's main highlight will be a 1.5km song-and-dance street parade featuring some 4,000 dancers showcasing the best of the different states and federal territories in Malaysia. The parade will begin in Dataran Merdeka and make its way through Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Semarang and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, before making its way back to Dataran Merdeka.
The party really begins at 6pm, when a pre-show concert is kicked off by popular Malaysian celebrities such as Shiela Majid, Jaclyn Victor, Amy Mastura and Adibah Noor. The pre-show concerts will be staged in front of the PKNS building is Jalan Raja Laut and Laman Seni on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
