GETTING THERE
By Bus
Perlis State Park is located about 42km from Kangar town and 10km from the Malaysia-Thai border. You can get to Kangar using several interstate, air-conditioned bus services such as Transnasional (Tel: 603-20703300) and Sutera Express (Tel: 03-20267199) departing from the Puduraya bus station in Kuala Lumpur. These buses will stop at the Express Bus Station on Jalan Bukit Lagi in Kangar. From there, you can take a taxi or the HBR Express Bus to Kaki Bukit and complete your journey with an 8km taxi ride to the Perlis State Park entrance for about RM15.
By Plane
There is no direct air service to Perlis. Visitors have to fly into Alor Setar (in Kedah) and then take a 45-minute taxi ride to Kangar. From Kangar, you can take a taxi or the HBR Express Bus to Kaki Bukit, which is about 8km from the park entrance. You can then catch a taxi to the Perlis State Park entrance for about RM15.
By Boat
You can also get to Kuala Perlis from Kuah jetty in Langkawi via ferry boats. The ride costs between RM12 to RM15 per person, one way and takes about 45 minutes. Kuala Perlis is linked to Kangar via a two-lane highway.
Located at the northern-most edge of Peninsula Malaysia, the state of Perlis is easily accessible via the North-South Highway, which links Kangar, the state capital of Perlis, to Kuala Lumpur. From Kangar, you’ll need to drive north for another 36km to the small town of Kaki Bukit, located just 8km from the park entrance.
Wang Burma Cave
" Wang Burma is a cave system that has become the main attraction of the Wang Kelian State Park within the Perlis State Park."

Wang Burma is a cave system that has become the main attraction of the Wang Kelian State Park within the Perlis State Park. Wang Burma is divided into two main caves, one is Wang Burma Satu where abundance of amazing rock formations like stalactites and stalagmites can be found, and the other is Wang Burma Dua, which requires one to be both physically and mentally fit before venturing into the cave.

Before you enter the cave system, it is advisable that you seek a qualified guide and permission from the Perlis Forestry Department. An exploration of the entire Wang Burma cave system will take approximately 3 1/2 hours. Once inside Wang Burma, you will be thrilled with this truly unique cave system - its limestone composition is honeycombed with passages, streams and caves. You might even get to see many exotic species of insects and fungi such as giant toad, whip scorpion, centipede, bats, striped cave racer, cave cricket and mushrooms.

This cave exploration gets more exciting as your guide leads you through narrow passages and muddy tunnels where you may need to crawl or squeeze your way through in order to reach the intriguing and wonderful water-worn sculptures. Be sure to use a buddy system when venturing into this challenging cave exploration.

For more information on Gua Wang Burma, please contact the State Forestry Department at +604-9765966

"Oh it is truly unique cave system. Its limestones composition is honycombed with passages, streams and caves. Lots of exotic species of insects can be found in this cave. Some of us really had a good scream, when the saw fungi such as giant toad, whip scorpion, centipede, bats flying over their head and many other insects. I find this is one of the most interesting, exciting and good experience to explore into this Wang Burma Cave and it is really a wonderful water-worn sculptures whereby we have to go through narrow passages and muddy tunnels and even force ourself to crawl into it. I still cannot forget my first experience to visit this caves and it is highly recommended to all Malaysian, young and old, as well as Tourist, to visit this cave."
