adrian cheah Email :goonhoong@gmail.com "Belum forest reserve is situated about 5 hrs drive from Kuala lumpur .The best option is to drive there .We stayed 2 nites in Belum forest resort .The resort is situated on Pulau Banding , an artificial island created during the flooding of the temenggor valley.spent 3 days 2 nites andit was comfort in the midst of a forest experience.However for the budget traveller one should plan your food since the nearet town is Grik and Jeli (1 hr away).Took a day's trip to see a Jahai settlement ,then to some Rafflesia plants which unfortunately didnt bloom and a dip in a waterfall nearby.Tried to spot some hornbills deparately but there was none,I guess there is some high and low seasons in wildlife spotting in Belum.Most City folk I discovered come to Belum to do fishing."
