"This zoo is the worst zoo that I've ever seen. Animals are over crowded in their cages and they seem to be not happy. I hate this zoo and hope it can be reconstructure, it's better for the animals living in it."

"We need to restructure our zoo. Our zoo don't have much differences since i last visited it 8 years ago.Make it a better place for the animals. We can have a tramp in the zoo, clean up unneccesary bushes, have a wildlife habitat and a night safari. Definetely this will upgrade the image of National Zoo in the eyes of Malaysian and the world."

"The Zoo Negara, though supposed to be the National Zoo..does not really reflect a modern Zoo. Ms. Selena, I have heard of many plans for the Zoo. This is good, however these plans have been time and time again been repeated without any true impact. You see, the Zoo Negara actually fails to create an impact other modern zoo has on its visitors. The Zoo has to be more proactive and must streamline its operation to suit the current trend in Zoo management. Your Zoo lacks branding, promotional events, poor staff management and I could go on. I am here not to condemn the Zoo. I love the Zoo especially Zoo Negara. I am very much saddened by what the Zoo is now. If you'd like to talk about upgrading the Zoo, drop me an e-mail..."

Basically, I was considered to visit either Zoo Malacca or Zoo Negara M'sia KL. Finally, I have decided to visit Zoo Negara because is our Largest Zoo in M'sia. But, I feel that this is my bad decision and disappointed after I has been visit to Zoo Negara on 25/06/05 Sat.
1st, there is no introducing and explaination regarding the entrance ticket catgegory at the sale counter. When I have request the sale representative to explain to me, the answer is -> pls look at the price table for your own self. Too bad ! Attitude problem !
2nd, pricing. RM10 for adult and RM5 for children under 3years old. For me is alright, but after go around the Zoo I find that this price is not fair !!! Bcos the bad facility, less animals and lousy introducing. Oh ! My God ! If this our representing Zoo NEGARA M'sia ?? Really, I will never tell or recommend to my oversea friends or either local friends to visit Zoo Negara M'sia.
If you don't believe that, pls try to visit there and you will know this is true !"

"Hello all zoo visitors!
I would like to thank all that have supported the zoo since the very beginning. To answer some or your questions:
1. Some animals may look inactive during the day because they might be nocturnal (active at night) or it could be their natural behavior. Example : Lions are natural active 3-4 hours in a day.
2. Zoo Negara is in the progress of improving the zoo to an international standard now that the government has agreed that we are not to move for the time being.
3. The zoo is actually spacious. We currently use 64 acres of land and have 40 acres of land to be developed.
4. Facilities has also been upgraded - directional signages, guide maps, free train rides, 3 major restaurants, a few food kiosks, souvenir shops, playground, clean toilets, prayer room etc.
5. Latest animals at the zoo - Pademelon (mammal) -they are still getting use to their new home, mata mata (reptile), spoonbills (bird) etc.
6. New exhibit - small clawed otter, tapir & deer, forest display, mini aquarium etc.

"Surprisingly.. visiting zoo negara was one of the most fun day of my life. Dont let the heat trick you into buying hats from the seller outside the zoo, because it's quite shady inside. oh.. dont forget to bring along a mosquito repellent."

"Zoo Negara needs enlargement at least three times the current size.. and Zoo negara has to changed its status from "keeping animal" to "reserving the animal from extinction" .Zoo Negara also has to include water park, and includes high tech entertainment that could increases environmental awareness among Malaysians as well as the foreigners (imagine Zoo Negara like Disneyland USA, but more informative). Zoo negara also should open day and night, like Singapore Zoo. Zoo Negara needs to get investment from the private sectors because these projects were hugely expensive. Last but not least, Zoo Negara needs its won website. "

"I am especially impressed with the reptile house. The monitor lizard and iguana display was so natural that any visitor could be forgiven for thinking they were not in the zoo, but in the wild. Fabulous crocs, too, by the way!
WHoever is in charge should get a medal. I have visited the zoo regularly -- every yr -- and I have never seen it look so good.

"The place is OK. But certain species of animal are kept in few numbers. This makes it harder to see this animal. Example like mousedeers. It's better to keep at least 5 or 6 of them in a place rather than single animal. "
