Botanical Garden Putrajaya captures in full colour the diversity of tropical flowering species. The collection of plant life assembled here consists not only of plants that are indigenous to Malaysia but includes many species, which are introduced from other tropical countries, stretching across Africa, Tropical America and Asia Pacific.
Botanical Garden Putrajaya gives you a close encounter with some of the world’s most fascinating plants, with about 700 species from over 90 countries of origin. Informative plaques and materials are strategically located to help better understand their complex nature.
A leisurely walk through the garden takes one across natural landscapes displaying the indigenous plants of major tropical regions. Rediscover our tropical heritage as you walk on the tree-high Canopy Bridge, trek up the Heliconia Trail, visit the aptly named Sun Garden, the unique African Collection, the Tropical American Collection and many other attractions.
Botanical Garden Putrajaya is established on 230 acres of what was formerly agricultural land, within the precincts of the nation’s new Federal Government Administrative Centre, Putrajaya.
