Tropical Fruit Farm
" Fancy tasting local tropical fruits plucked fresh from the trees? Then Penang's Tropical Fruit Farm is the place to go!"

A truly unique concept in Malaysia, Tropical Fruit Farm cultivates a mind-boggling 140 types of exotic fruit trees on its 25 acres. Consisting of well-planned terraces, the Tropical Fruit Farm was initiated to prevent extinction of local tropical fruit trees that were fast disappearing due to the rapid and vast development in rural areas. It also aims to educate people about our rich green heritage and offers them an opportunity to discover many less known fruit like the butterfruit, miracle fruit or dragon fruit at one site.

Striving to remain environmentally friendly as far as possible, organic matter is used as fertiliser. A visitor can opt for the tour, fruit tasting or 'all you can eat' Packages. Packages cost between RM7 to RM48 per person.

Those who opt for the fruit-tasting Package at RM7 will get to sample succulent fruit which are not available in the local market. The farm guide will also explain about the fruit available in the showroom. Apart from enjoying luscious fruit, savour the sweet juice of young coconut, which locals believe helps cool down the body.

The fruit farm is open from 9am to 6pm daily.

"Wonderful place, and the fruit was really delicious :o)"
by Peter Karl

"I was here May 2005, and it was a very interesting experiece, especially if you follow one of the knowledgeable guides that they have there like En. Ali. These guides will share their knowledge of each fruit's healing or medicinal properties, beauty enhancers, etc. And the fruits offered at the buffet table are varied and delicious!"
