Terachi is one of 'the small states' (Luak) forming Negeri Sembilan after the withdrawal of several 'states' in the early affiliation on 1773. In its early days, this luak Terachi also faced disturbances in the appointment of its Chieftains which paved way for British intervention. It was also one of the Yamtuan Seri Menanti's stronghold during the fierce battle of Bukit Putus in 1874 against the British Army who supported Dato' Kelana Sungai Ujong.

Its colourful historical background makes it apt to be developed as a cultural village which is strategically located near a T-junction facing the arch of Seri Menanti Royal Town. Terachi is located on vast lowlands between the Seri Menanti Royal Town and the high terrains of Bukit Putus. If you are driving from Seremban along Bukit Putus, passing by Ulu Bendul Recreational Forest, you will be able to enjoy the panoramic view of green paddy fields, flanked by majestic mountains forming a dramatic backdrop against the ever picturesque beauty of Malay villages.

In the middle of this fascinating picture, standing elegantly is a row of traditionally designed wooden shophouses - Terachi Culture Village. Displayed in these shops is an array of local handicrafts, souvenirs and gifts. In addition, it is the venue for local cultural activities like traditional dance, song, music and theatre. While enjoying the exquisite taste of local delicacies at the food stalls amidst the serene environment, witness how local traditional farmers use the buffalo to plough paddy fields.
