Taman Tasik Perdana
" A popular spot for joggers and those who wish to unwind after a hard day's work, Taman Tasik Perdana or the Lake Gardens, is the main place to go if one is in Kuala Lumpur. "

Taman Tasik Perdana or fondly known as the Lake Garden, is the oldest and most popular park in Kuala Lumpur. Located along Jalan Perdana, its main attraction is the artificial lake surrounded by lush greenery in a 92ha. (227 acres) parkland that provide a refreshing ambiance.

After a hard day at work, visitors enjoy coming here to take a breath of fresh air, strolling along the carefully planned paths or rowing on the lake. The park also has jogging tracks and exercise stations, as well as children's playground.

Attractions in the park include a Bird Park, Butterfly Park, Deer Park, Herbs and Conservatory Gardens and an Orchid Garden.

The Butterfly Park charges RM4 for adults and RM2 for children, and opens from 9am to 5pm, and is extended to 6pm during weekends and public holidays.

All of the attractions are all reachable either by foot or by regular shuttle buses. From the gardens, you may also visit other attractions such as the National Monument, Parliament House and the Planetarium.

"This is like the best "green" retreat in the city. If you don't have time to walk around, a slow drive in the evenings should suffice. And hey! Don't forget to wind down the screens cos you'll need all the oxygen your lungs can take."
