Taiping Government Offices
"
This is a cluster of impressive colonial buildings in Taiping town, which was restored through efforts made by the local authority."
It is a refreshing relief to note that the local authority has embarked on a project to restore old colonial buildings and sites. Efforts include beautification of the whole town and implementing a constructive system to ease traffic congestion. Old colonial buildings are refreshed with a new coat of white paint.
This imposing Victorian styled block of offices was officiated in 1898. The Government Offices building portrays a very fine and well-designed architecture. Today, it is the State Council Chambers as well as offices for the State Secretariat, Treasury, Audit, Education and Forest Departments. The estimated cost of the facelift was RM83,750. The building is also the Larut-Matang District Office.
Other colonial buildings at Jalan Taming Sari are worth visiting include Taiping Museum and the Taiping Land Office.
"Taping is a place that can make our life more relax. The environment there fell like staying at Finland, coz it always raining. At the night it so cold but just in rainy day's. I think Taiping can be more interested town if their keep securing the natural habitat from being destroy, dont make Taiping be like K.L, coz K.L is full of SIN."
