"
Like to splash and plunge into the fresh river water - but don't want to travel far? Then head on to Sungai Congkak, one of Selangor’s most favourite local haunts. Picnickers and campers will have a fun day out, with stalls selling food and beverages, jungle produce and other knick-knacks."
With just RM1 per person (for 12 year-olds and above) for the entrance fee, the magic of Sungai Congkak awaits nature lovers and the those who crave for fresh river water - with just 45 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur!
Enterprising locals have set up wooden/bamboo huts by the gentle and long river for families or couples to seek shelter and have picnics in, charging RM5 to RM7 per booth. Others set up parking grounds at RM2 to 3 per vehicle.
Drive up to the end of the road to reach the Sungai Congkak Forest Reserve entrance, and should you choose to stay overnight, there's a choice of chalets (1-12 people), campsites (4-6 people) and canopies, with toilets provided.
It is not hard to figure out why Sungai Congkak is popular with visitors - not only that it is endowed with some of the purest river systems in the country, the relaxing surroundings offer a peace of mind, away from the city - a spot to reconnect with friends.
With deep, cold waters, Sungai Congkak is perfect for a dip on a hot afternoon, with visitors trying out their skills at swimming and holding their breaths in the refreshing river.
Near Gunung Nuang lies an unassuming looking river called Sungai Pangsun. Its gentle brown waters – stained from fallen leaves and the river mud – flow languidly over large smooth brown rocks.
Located some 280 meters from the sea level, the Look Out Point at Bukit Ampang gets frequent patrons from near and far to have a breath of fresh air, as well as a panoramic view of the Kuala Lumpur landscape.
