Sandwiched between the Seremban Lake Garden and the State Legislative Assembly Building, it was formerly the office of the State Secretary, before being taken over by the State Library authorities in 1987. Being a treasure trove of knowledge, this library is visited by students and academicians, not only from Seremban and its surrounding areas, but also from higher learning institutions around the Klang Valley.
The two-storey building houses a large collection of books that is divided into the reference, the general titles, the children's and the Negeri Sembilan collections. Take time to browse around the Negeri Sembilan collection which is placed in a special room with beautifully carved wooden walls. In comprises of documents, journals, books and photos on the historic events and civilisation of Negeri Sembilan way back from its inception period to post-independence. This collection is easily accessible through the library's computerised filing system.
The children's collection is also impressive with sophisticated hypermedia facilities which opens up a new dimension of learning pleasure for the under twelves.
This photogenic building faces a beautiful roundabout landscaped with a myriad of blooming colourful flowers. In front of the library stands a memorial to the brave soldiers who fought in the World Wars and during the Emergency.
