The Setiu Peladang Recreational Park represents a new dimension in Malaysian Agrotourism modelled after The Malaysian Agricultural Park. It offers visitors an exciting experience to live in traditional rugged farmers' chalets surrounded by oil palm plantation, exotic tropical fruit orchards, nursery and fish ponds. The Setiu Disctrict's unexplored, natural and serene surroundings such as tropical rain forest, river, caves, water falls, and flora and fauna await and welcome all adventurous tourists and naturalists.
The Setiu Peladang Recreational Park, which has an area of 281ha. is only 10 minutes drive by car from Bandar Permaisuri (Queen's Town), a town situated in the state of Terengganu on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The area is mainly cultivated with oil palm mixed with other crops and aquaculture activities. The Park is owned by Setiu Area Farmers' Organization. Oil Palm Plantation
The most striking sight awaiting a visitor is the luxuriant canopy of green foliage of oil palm trees that stand on rolling hills. From these palms, fruits are being harvested for their oil which is a major export earner for Malaysia.
Exotic Tropical Fruits
Various exotic tropical fruits, which are unavailable in the international market are cultivated here. They are duku, durian (the king of fruits), rambutan, rambai, dokong, cempedak (similar to jackfruit) and other local fruits, which are bound, to wet your appetite. Visitors can see and experience the many farming activities such as fruits wrapping, plucking, harvesting and at the same time enjoy the taste of the exotic fruits.
Fish Ponds
Visitors can go fishing in the fish ponds which are stocked with a variety of fish. They are even encouraged to practice their culinary skills with their catch.
Fruit And Flower Nursery
Visitors can buy flower and fruit seedlings at reasonable prices. Arboretum
Rare plants and plants of economic and medicinal value are being conserved in the arboretum for the benefit of future generation.
Agro Forestry
A wide range of local fruits are cultivated under natural rain forest. This allows the visitors an opportunity to study or appreciate the formation of new ecological system.

The place is also uniquely lanscaped to create a beautiful and peaceful environment.
Tropical Rain Forest Reserve
Adventurous tourists and naturalists can enjoy jungle trekking, mountain climbing, bird watching, rafting, angling, insect collection, medicinal plant research and flora and fauna study in the area of Gunong Tebu Tropical Rain Forest Reserve (Sugarcane Mountain). Accomodation and Facilities
The Park provides overnight facilities with 21 chalets and 3 hostels and can accomodate a total of 300 people. The rate is US 20 per chalet per night and US 12 per person per night for hostel. Other facilities available are restaurant, sports field and training camp for group activities.
