After patiently driving through a narrow winding kampung lane, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of Serting Ulu Recreational Park instantly, you will applaud your choice of a holiday venue. The calmness and tranquility enveloping you at this cool, shadowy recreational park is very soothing to the mind and body. The serenity of this lowland dipterocarp forest can be felt exquisitely in the warmth of the soft luminary sunlight filtering through the greenery of the many species of trees peculiar to tropical rainforests.
Across a waterfall flowing into the river going through this forest is an overhead hanging bridge. Balancing yourself as you make your way across, is in itself an adventure. From atop this hanging bridge, take in the mesmerising sight of a fast cascade of water falling from the mountains into the river before winding its way in and around boulders and mossy stones, slowing down when its path is blocked by scattering boulders and fallen logs, ending in a smooth flow of crystal clear water. The steep left bank is covered by a tangle of roots weaving their way in and out of the rocks, while in contrast, the soft sloping right bank is enveloped in grass dotted with small plants and shrubs.
Further down, in a large clearing, you will come across the main attraction of the park - a big open swimming pool. The watergate of this pool is controlled manually. It is here that people come for picnics and to have fun. Be it Diving, swimming or just frolicking around, the cool refreshing water of this pool is a welcome pleasure in the warm weathers of Negeri Sembilan. There is also a surau and several stalls and huts for the ease and comfort of visitors. This recreational park, part of the Serting Reserve Forest, is about 15 minutes' drive from Simpang Pertang, the nearest town.
