The Museum of the Royal Malaysian Museum is located in front of the Maritime Museum (The Flora de La Mar). The Royal Malaysian Navy Museum was previously located at the Royal Malaysian Naval Base at Lumut in Perak. It was relocated in Melaka to take advantage of the large numbers of tourists, both foreign and local who throng to Melaka. The naval Museum in Melaka was opened to the public on October 28, 1995.
