Formerly known as the Esplanade, Tanjung Harapan near North Port of Pelabuhan Klang has been and still is a haven for seafood lovers as you will find here a number of popular restaurants specialising in the ocean’s harvest.
It is about 15 minutes’ drive from Shah Alam and numerous signboards will point the way to Tanjung Harapan. Some restaurants are quaintly decorated with bright colourful lights while there are some that look quite run-down. But don’t let the looks fool you because a short walk into one of these “dilapidated” establishments will take you to a surprisingly scenic spot for a meal.
These restaurants are actually built in stilts overlooking the river, so you can get a good view of fishing boats and other vessels passing by while you enjoy your meal. The food is relatively cheap and will certainly have you ordering seconds.
"My family frequent this place for our weekend dinner outings as it is soo accessible from PJ. Nothing like having seafood by the sea itself, the sea breeze, sunset, the passing boats, the gentle sounds of the waves etc. Suddenly around 8pm the serenity is completely overwhelmed by the loud live music.
