Moyang Salleh Mausoleum
" The resting place of this great man is situated in Kampung Bandar Tinggi Cemetery, roughly 4 kilometres from Kuala Klawang town."

According to the notes of A. Caldecott (1912), Moyang Salleh was the third Penghulu (Chief) of Jelebu, after To' Gombak (from Pagarruyong) and To' Mentunggang. It was during his term as Penghulu that the murder of Siamat, the son of Orang Kaya Kechil Rembau take place. Siamat was murdered in 1757 on the order of the Sultan of Johor, as Orang Kechil embau refused to wed his daughter Sri Banun to the Sultan.

To avoid similar fate, Moyang Salleh, along with four his strongest men, To' Beruang Hitam, To' Laut Api, To' Bauk and To' Gagah Lela Perkasa made their way to Johor to show their protest against the murder. Their arrival at the palace in Johor was ignored, so adopting the attitude of passive obstrusion Moyang Salleh and his coutiers set off to show their prowess so as to intimidate the Sultan into granting them an audience. It was miraculous show.

For seven days and seven nights it rained continuously but not a drop fell on five, as Moyang Salleh threw his cape above their heads which automatically spread out to form an umbrella of great beauty and ample propotions. After witnessing this feat, the Sultan granted them permission to camp on the palace veranda, but he still continued to ignore their presence. The five proceeded to demonstrate their abilities, among which shaking a very tall and sturdy coconut tree, rocking the palace and couching until smoke and flames came out of the mouth.

Looking at this, the Sultan relented and granted them an audience. As a result of negotiations, Moyang Salleh was given suzenrainty of Jelebu and conferred the title Dato' Manduleka Menteri Akhir Zaman Sultan Jelebu. Subsequently, Jelebu became independent of Johor.

This event is known in history as "breaking the tie with Johor". To this very day, this title is still being used. The Undang Jelebu is known as the Dato' Mendika Menteri Akhir Zaman, a legacy of Moyang Salleh. The resting place of this great man is situated in Kampung Bandar Tinggi Cemetery, roughly four kilometres from Kuala Klawang town. About 50 metres from this mausoleum near the parking lot, you will see a cannon belonging to Dato' Undang Abdullah.
