GETTING THERE
From Kuala Lumpur, get onto the North-South Expressway heading north towards Alor Setar (Kedah). Once in Seberang Perai, take the Permatang Pauh Exit (Exit 164) and get onto Jalan Permatang Pauh. Drive on until you pass the small town of Penanti. Stay on this road and it will merge with Jalan Ara Kuda. From here, you will see signage for the Mengkuang Titi Homestay. Penanti is about 5 minute's drive to Mengkuang Titi village.
Mengkuang Titi
" If you're searching for an experience of rural charms, visit the Mengkuang Titi Homestay in Seberang Perai, Pulau Pinang."

Set amidst golden green padi fields swaying coconut trees canopies of rubber trees and oil palm fronds, Mengkuang Titi promises a journey and an experience you will never forget.

The Village had its humble beginnings in early 1800's and is located about 25 km from Butterworth and 32 km from Georgetown via the Penang Bridge. Today, Kampung Mengkuang Titi, with its 700 residents still retains its rustic traditional charm and way of life. Agriculture and cottage industries are still the main sources of income.

Mengkuang Titi is a quaint village consisting of about 70 homes. Mengkuang Titi is a place of peace and serenity. Our charming hamlet is located in Bukit Mertajam, within the Seberang Perai district, less than an hour's drive from Pulau Pinang.

There is indeed much to see and do in the kampung. One can walk through a canopy of rubber trees, try a hand at rubber tapping and observe how latex is processed into rubber sheets. Visitors can also visit the oil palm estates and stroll amidst its neat rows of palm fronds and huge bunches of flaming orange-red oil palm fruits.

Visitor should also look out for the awesome mengkuang plants from which the village got its name. It is really interesting to see how these long sharp, serrated swords like leaves are harvested, and then slowly processed into fine colourful strips ready for weaving. At the cottage industry centre nearby, one can learn the art of bahulu making. These cakes are deliciously light and spongy… certainly a treat be savoured!
