This mosque was built by Dato Muda Linggi Haji Mohd Peral in the late 19th century. The two cannon mounted in front of the mosque are all that remain of the Dato Musa’s once considerable collection of armory used to defend Linggi against its rival.
Linggi Mosque was also the place where the celebrated Malay linguist, the late Tan Sri Zainal Abidin bin Ahmad (Za'aba), spent many an afternoon for his studies on religion and Arabic language from the respected religious scholar, Haji Abbas Zakaria in the early 1900's.
Rather modest in its architecture, the mosque is the nearest and most convenient avenue for Friday prayers among the nearby villages.
