Nestled in the middle of the Kota Kemuning township and easily accessible via the Shah Alam Expressway and a mere 15 minutes drive from Subang Jaya, Kota Permai Golf & Country Club is arguable one of the best courses in the region. An 18-hole course of international standards, the home of the Volvo Masters is designed by Ross Watson and plays to a par 72, covering vast undulating terrain.
The opening hole plays fairly easy to the experienced golfer. The tranquil start requires long shots with moderate caution of the bunkers littered at the sides of the wide fairway. The par 5 measuring 497 metres (black), 476 metres (white), 425 metres (red) hardly threatens and instead offers itself as a serene beginning for golfers of all levels.
The 2nd hole, a par 4, 339 metres (black), 314 metres (white), 280 metres (red) is the course's most beautiful hole, deriving great splendour from the lake resting on the left side of the fairway. Threes grow aplenty while bunkers demand well-planned shots. The water-carry just before approaching the green is an excellent test of skill.
The closing hole leaves behind a thrilling memory through Watson's creative layout. The elevated tee-box allows a glimpse of the entire hole with the majestic clubhouse looming in the distance, a view that will surely make a mark on the impression. While playing uphill adds to the challenge, the narrow hole is also protected with numerous bunkers. If accuracy prevails, reaching the flag will be accompanied by great fulfilment.
The clubhouse offers a variety of activities including swimming, sauna and steam bath, badminton, tennis, squash and table tennis. Amenities include a baby room, children's room, reading room and gymnasium.
