"The warmth and friendliness of the town population has made Relau a country retreat or what the urban population call 'balik kampung' holiday attraction."
Located at the district of Bandar Baharu, Relau Village is a small traditional Malay rural township in the Southern-most part of Kedah Darul Aman. The uniqueness of Relau Village lies in the of the village itself. Surrounded by lush green hills with unspoilt natural beauty hence giving the town the extra edge over other rural locations in Kedah.
The Homestay Programme of Kampung Relau is registered with the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism of Malaysia and managed by a company called Sri Impian Recreation. Under this programme, visitors are put up with their 'adopted' family throughout their stay. Most of the host family selected for this programme are farmers, many of whom still practice traditional agricultural and farming methods.
The company had selected 24 houses where visitors could be accommodated. The houses are equipped with all facilities and basic amenities such as water and electricity. This programme offers visitors a unique and invaluable experience of a life time, living the way these farmers live.
