Kampung Maju Jaya Pepper Plantation is located just next to Kg Maju Jaya itself which is around 7km from Skudai main road. This 20 acres plantation is the first pepper plantation to be cultivated in large scale as compared to the traditional backyard farming of smaller scale.
Pepper vines are planted with its support tree (Dedap) in Kg Maju Jaya Pepper Plantation. Peppercorns are process into several varieties. Green peppercorns are berries that are picked long before maturity in the green stage and either air-dried, freeze-dried or pickled in brine to prevent fermentation.
Uniquely available at this farm is fresh green pepper sauce, a new recipe created in collaboration with Dorsett HotelJohor Bahru. Green pepper sauce is more expensive and rare as its widely recognised to have superior appearance, better flavour and its freshness and are considered essential for French, Creole and some Thai cooking. While fresh green pepper sauce is even rarer and not easily available.
The more traditional and more common varieties are the white peppercorns and the black peppercorns. Today there are many new products of pepper among the popular one is the pepper candy.
