To get to Kampar River, take the North-South Expressway, exit at Gopeng Interchange, and follow the Federal Route 1 and drive south for 25 km. Look for the signage for Gopeng Nature Resort and follow it, you will go through a winding road up and down a hill for 2 km, if you see some very old and huge water pipes,you will arrive at the river mouth once you see Gopeng Nature Resort.

Kampar River (also known as Sungai Itek) is a popular white water rafting destination in Gopeng, Perak. Located 20 minutes away from Gua Tempurung and a mere 26 km from Ipoh town, it offers Grade I to III rapids."
It is suitable for beginners to White Water Rafting. Even those who can't swim can still participate and have fun, provided that everyone follows the instructions of the guides.
The 17km long river has 14 rapids in total. The waters are clear and cool, and the river banks are surrounded by the lush rainforests. Some parts of the river are surreal, shady and calm.
The main activity here is of course, White Water Rafting. You need to book a Package first with a choice of a half day, full day or even overnight Packages.
The best time to go is between July to September, when it does not rain too much and the water level is safe. You can visit at any other time of the year - just contact your White Water Rafting operator to check if the water levels are ok.
