Jambatan Putus, Buloh Kasap
"
A stark reminder of the destructive effect of war. The broken bridge is situated in a quiet town called Buloh Kasap."
Jambatan Patah (broken bridge) is situated in a quiet town called Buloh Kasap. The bridge spans across the upper Muar River, and serves as an eerie reminder of the events that took place here during World War II. In January 1942, the British Armed Forces deliberately demolished part of Jambatan Patah, with hopes of halting the advancement of Japanese forces that was progressing further south through the peninsula. Today, a wooden platform has been built at the other end of the bridge, overlooking the river, to enable visitors to have a good view of the bridge.
Built in Kampung Sungai Kelamah, this concrete structure in white marble was erected as a sign of respect in memory of the soldiers involved in a battle between the Japanese and Australian armies.
"although they are nothing so special at there, but u can enjoy mamak food near the bridge, and also enjoy king of fruit in malaysia 'durian'. the people at here are nice and friendly. "
