"
The highest point in Selangor at 1,493 meters, it is a popular weekend getaway for many mountain climbers."
On average, 1,200 people climb the mountain each month. Trekking for 2-3 hours will lead you to a rest hut and 15 minutes away from the hut is a waterfall, which is a refreshing respite after the steep climb along an undulating trail. A hike of 4 -5 hours will lead you to the summit.
If you want to be at the heart of Nuang and yet want to skip the unglamorous trekking bit, you can bring your 4WD vehicle all the way up to the hut. The ride is bumpy, to be sure, but it only takes an hour to reach the hut. Plus it is another exhilarating way of experiencing the verdant mountain.
There is no need for guides as the trails are clearly marked. In rainy weather, it is not advisable to climb the mountain as the slopes will be very slippery.
Gunung Nuang is not only a hit with the adults, but children have also been known to enjoy the hike up to the waterfall.
