This guild displays fine Cantonese-style architecture that is wonderfully adapted to colonial urban environment. Founded in 1832, it is the oldest and largest goldsmiths guild in Malaysia. The temple, which the guild houses, was built in 1903 and pays homage to Wu Ching, the patron deity of goldsmiths. The craftsmen that belonged to this guild once hailed from Toi Shan district in Guangdong province, China.
