This Lowland Dipterocarp Forest is the place to be if you're looking for peace and tranquility. Quiet and clean, you can enjoy the simple pleasure of dipping your feet in the clear, cool water of Bana river, and watch butterflies and dragonflies flying from one rock another all along the river. The crystal clear water of this river tempts you to take a dip, a welcoming invitation considering the pristine waters, with visibility right down to the bottom of the river. The thick forest canopy above provides natural shade against the sun, and scatters leaves onto the forest floor, completing the tranquil scenery.
Several resting huts are strategically placed by the banks of Bana river for the comfort of visitors. De Bana forest holds a treasuretrove of herbal plants that has medicinal properties, including the Tongkat Ali and Kacip Fatimah. You can also find beautiful orchids if you go for a trek deeper into the forest, although spotting the orchid plant may require a trained eye. Camping, rock climbing and mountain climbing are also among the activities available here.
The frequently returning visitors that De Bana receives is testimony to the beauty and loveliness of this recreational park. If you get hungry, you can find a few stalls selling food just 50m from the entrance of this park. This recreational park is a favourite venue for camping trips during school holidays.
