There are two well landscaped parks divided by Bujang Suntong Road, Wisma Sanyan and Lau King Howe Memorial Museum.
Wisma Sanyan houses the local town council, government departments and several levels of shops. The large field in front of the building is where the annual Borneo Cultural Festival is held.
Across the Bujang Suntong Road is another field where one can view the Igan River, shipbuilding yards, as well a row of kampung houses on stilts.
The fields have two large statues of swans in intimate posture and many smaller ones on little pillars in a dramatic circular arrangement.
Another park along Mission Road features a large square with ultra modern arch canopies. This is a favourite gathering place for young people. Nearby is a little garden sponsored by the Ling Clan with a giant swan statue and 12 crafted zodiac animals displayed in a circle.
