Among the interesting artifacts on show are the history and development of Ipoh and the mining of the forestry of Perak. Built more than a hundred years ago, it has eight rooms and was formerly the house of a rich tin miner, Foo Choong Yit.
The Darul Ridzuan Museum is located along Jalan Panglima, Bukit Gantang Wahab, in Ipoh. It was officially opened on Aug 18, 1992 and has been the home to Malay dignitaries in the district of Kinta.
Currently, the museum is stocked with many historical remnants of the mining and forestry industries of Perak. While the museum is relatively new, the building is not. It was built more than 100 years ago.
