Prepared in the most savoury style of Asam Pedas, a sweet-sour-spicy dish of the shellfish meat and roe, it has to be the most exotic thing in Kota Tinggi.
Aside from this prehistoric shellfish, there are kupang (mussels), Siput Gong Gong (conch shells) and a kind of spiral shell which is consumed by way of sucking one end of the opening. Horseshoe crabs are found in mud flats and near mangrove swamps.
