Home Destination Offroad Driving

Malaysia offers a wide range of off road driving experiences. For beginners, they can choose the easy family-type trails that require no special equipment. Intermediate driver can try and moderate the more enduring trails complete with obstacles. The highly skilled driver looking for thrill-and-skill rides can choose the rugged terrain in the mountainous interior.

For off road drivers it is best to go during the dry seasons between March and October but if they are looking for more challenges, they can go during the monsoon between November and February.

To stay on a safe side, it is highly recommended that these drivers should be accompanied with several 4WD tour specialists, as the terrain is difficult to negotiate without the help of a seasoned driver. These specialists would normally have local knowledge of trails, weather conditions, camping locations and scenic attractions.

Some of the best off road driving in Peninsular Malaysia can be found in the more remote regions. A popular site is Gua Musang in Kelantan, which is connected by hundreds of kilometres of logging tracks to Cameron Highlands in Pahang and Lasah in Perak.  The Kenyir Lake area in Terengganu, and Endau-Rompin, Chini Lake and Sg. Lembing in Pahang are also popular off road routes. Kuala Kubu Bahru, just two hours' drive from Kuala Lumpur, offers mild to moderate off road routes in a delightful rural setting.

Where to go
Lata Berembun (Berembun Waterfall), Pahang
A picturesque waterfall that's also ideal for camping and picnics, Lata Berembun can only be reached by four wheel drives.
