In many of Malaysia’s animal sanctuaries, animals are brought to the sanctuaries to live and be protected by the authorities for the rest of their lives in their natural habitat. Here visitors are able to treat themselves to the exotic sights and sounds of some of Malaysia's wild animals in an enclave of natural setting with streams, lakes and abundance of flora.

Deer and Ostrich Breeding Centre, Sungkai Wildlife Reserve, Perak
This place is one of the efforts done by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks in order to protect the endangered species. Conservation work at this centre focuses on captive breeding programme for the sambar deer and indigenous pheasant species.

Animal Farm, Negeri Sembilan
Upon entering this 75-hectare park, you will be met with a captivating picture of the sambar, timorensis and axis-axis deer species on your left and right.
