"My recent trip to Pulau Ketam dampens my heart when I see piles of rubbish and sewage that had destroyed the wetland. Some of the rubbish even floated to the opposite island, dotting the landscape. I think something has to be done about the poor hygiene of this place before we continue with our seafood indulgence and tourist attraction. I read about the disease in school children at Pulau Ketam and the abandoned strayed dogs from Pulau Ketam to the other islands. If nothing is done, the damages will spread to the surrounding islands and waters in no time. By then, there will be no more seafood, and the residents may not survive with the worse off hygiene condition. Please, as responsible tourists, we should spread the awareness by stop visiting this place. Do your part! Contact the authority and complain to all the tour agencies and business owners about the pollution. Currently I have contacted an NGO to see if something can be done. Let's do our parts to make this place a better one!
